Alton Winter Beer Festival
Below is the list of Charities who have benefited from this February’s Winter Beer festival, in all we had £4,500 to hand out. This fantastic amount was raised on the day with help and the generosity to Triple fff our sponsor and all the local breweries that donated beer. Our Sincere thanks go to The Maltings Centre for their venue, the 50 volunteers who helped on the day and all the people who came and drank over 4000 pints.
Broadlands Riding for the Disabled received £500, Treloars Domestic Independence dept received £200, Francesca because of her disability needed a Tricycle to help with her mobility was awarded £300, Bushy Leaze School received £500 to assist them in upgrading their “Soft Play Area”, Impact received £600 to help students at Treloar College to purchase the wheelchair for their needs, Treloar Art dept received £200 to buy a Camera to assist students in their work towards their BTEC Art course, Treloars Medical Centre received £500, Naomi House received £500 to help towards their new “Teenager Friendly House” called jacksplace@naomihouse all donations welcome, Please contact them direct, Spina Bifida Association received £500 to help with their running costs, Local Multiple Sclerosis group received £500 to help pay towards a Medimotion Machine, which will be situated at our Local Alton sports Centre
Our Local Social services needed and got £200 to help a local lady who has MS, because of this she simply can’t get in and out of her house without help, so we provided £200 towards automatic doors for her, something so simple will mean so much to this lady.
Our next Beer festival, which is to be held once again at the Alton Maltings will be on 31st May, and again we will be drinking for local charities. The last four festivals have sold out so get your tickets early to save disappointment. The Alton Beer festival is continuing to reduce their carbon footprint. We are asking people to bring their old Alton beer festival glasses, a survey at the winter festival showed that the majority of people were in favour of supporting us going green. All Beers as always will be £2 a pint.
Entrance tickets are £6 this includes a free half pint if you bring your own glass,
programme and live music.
