Your future
Your Choice
The Wills and Probate team at Wheelers are alarmed by recent research which found that across England and Wales only 64% of adults have a Will, allowing the law to decide how their estate is divided.
Even more concerning are out of date Wills. Within today’s society there are frequent changes to families due to divorce or re-marriage. Financial changes may include re-mortgaging or bringing together two households. As such, a Will must be regularly reviewed to ensure their estate is divided as they wish and help avoid any animosity between members of the family.
Surprisingly, co-habiting couples are most at risk if their partner does not have a Will. In addition, four out of five parents gamble with their children’s future by not having a Will.
Making a Will need not be intimidating or complicated. Instructing a dedicated, experienced solicitor easily ensures that:
you control how your estate is distributed;
you express who you would like to be responsible for your children;
you state your wishes for your funeral;
you choose who will deal with your finances and property;
you can protect your family’s wealth through effective tax planning.
Securing the future of your family provides peace of mind for all parties.
