June Garden
Summer is well and truly upon us, the birds are singing in the trees, the grass is growing and the leaves are rustling in the warm breezes. Bring on the warm evenings spent cooking and eating in polite company whilst the children play in the garden.
This is when the garden is showing its best, the grass will need cutting every week, the edges will need to be clipped to give them the finishing touch, it’s the time when you can be rewarded for your labours with a garden to rival those next door.
Those hedges will need an early clip if they were not done in the spring, so bring together your ladder and your clippers and cut your hedge with added vigour.
For those of us who seek perfection in our lawns and gardens, the seeking out of lawn weeds like daisy’s and dandelions will be an added enjoyment, either removing by hand or with a lawn weed spray gun, bought from any good garden centre will do the job.
Or if you like to read and snooze on the grass and the thought of removing colourful lawn displays is not for you, then gently pluck any faded flowers to encourage more to smile at you.
Bedding plants are a good investment as they will show of your garden, coming in a range of colours and shapes, from the small to the hugely colourful hanging baskets enough to rival those of ancient times.
