NCT Nearly New Sale
The Alton and Bordon branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) held its autumn nearly new sale on the 6th October. The range of items available was substantial including clothes from birth to age 6, toys, accessories, cots, pushchairs, etc.. It was held at Amery Hill School and started at 2.00pm having taken the morning for the many helps to sort and present all the items.
The sale is a great place to pick up nearly new items for a good price and as a percentage of the sales goes to the charity, help in its work locally and national. For more details on the charity go to www.nct.org.uk.

Backmoor Apple Tasting
Blackmoor apple tasting was on the 14th October and as usual was very busy and enjoyable. This yearly event allows you to try out different varieties of apples and buy them from the producer along with apple trees and other locally produced products from the Blackmoor Farm Estate.
A large range of craft stalls were there with a great range of products from candles, woodcraft, ceramics, glassware and much more. Blackmoor scouts were selling freshly cooked hotdogs and burgers far too tempting to pass by.
You could ride on a horse draw cart, buy a pumpkin for halloween or traditional English charcoal from the woodsmen themselves.
The apple tasting day next year will be on the 12th October.
